Dr. Katie Childers has been practicing small animal medicine since graduating from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 2014. With a clinical interest in ultrasonography, she is drawn to the science and problem-solving aspects of veterinary work — but it’s the relationships she builds with pets and their people that keep her inspired.
Curious by nature, Dr. Childers is a lifelong learner who values both clinical growth and the quiet lessons animals offer us daily. After some time away, she returned to this practice with renewed clarity and a deep sense of purpose — grateful to care for a community that feels like home.
She considers it a privilege to walk alongside pets through every season of life, from wiggly puppy visits to the gentler pace of old age. There is something sacred, she believes, in being entrusted with that kind of continuity.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Childers enjoys gardening, reading, and fishing — all part of her ongoing effort to cultivate peace, presence, and a deep connection with the world around her.
